About

Love of Language

My work begins with affection for the craft of language. Words are the medium of my art...or at least one of them. I also cross-stitch, make jewelry, teach group fitness and work part-time as a personal trainer. Effective communication is involved in everything I do.

The Grind

While I enjoy many activites and cannot sit still for long, my bread and butter is writing and editing. I am dedicated to sitting  down to write every day. It is a discipline and a journey.

The Result

My work grows with experience. Writing and editing come as naturally as breathing to me. There is a compulsion within me to create, create, create and to enjoy the satisfaction of being productive and accomplished.

Initial Thoughts on Language...

"All communication is perfect."

Words are more than building blocks. String them together, and they build bridges. Stack them intricately, and they build worlds--and worldviews. Language always carries meaning, and how we use language conveys our deepest selves. God thought language to be so important that He came to us and built an entire theology on His very Word. Words matter. How we use language matters.

"In the beginning...In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made."

Leo Droppleman, Knoxille, TN (1991)
